The annual MLK Human Rights Commission Luncheon was this bougie community event I attended and it reminded me why I do what i do, why I am who I am, and why I’m not good at pretending with people because I hate politicking and being fake. Something’s changed with me in the new year - and while I’m not necessarily comfortable with it because it’s a change from who I usually am, I think I may need to get used to it.... this luncheon was just part of the beginning of my realization.
